While largemouth bass hog the headlines, many Texans prefer to pursue other species such as crappie, white bass, catfish and sunfish. Cooper is developing bumper populations of all these fishes. Cooper Lake State Park has large numbers of both channel and blue catfish, and frame nets have shown similar results for crappie. Also, it appears that white bass populations are beginning to explode.
