When school is out a lot of kids start looking for summer jobs. Every year a whole new group of kids go out trying to find their first job. If this is the first time you have ever sought work, yo are probably looking jobs for 16 year olds.

16 is the age when many kids get interested in a job for the first time. It is also the minimum age most businesses require you to be if you want to work for them. Most of these jobs are simple in nature and any 16 year old can learn how to do them quickly.

In recent years though, we have had a real bad economy and jobs for teens have really suffered. Fewer teens have been able to find work than in years past because the jobs just aren’t out there in the right quantity. Employers have had to and are continuing to have to cut back because of hard financial times. People just aren’t spending money like they used to and this is causing many jobs to be lost. Jobs that teenagers usually get are among the jobs that have decreased in numbers.
